We have lived through different weather conditions since we arrived in Canada, from a 28°C swim in Lake Ontario to a -7°C deep freeze at night in our cottage bed. We enjoyed a lot of sunshine in all the beautiful places, we could not have been luckier.
During our stay in Saguenay, we take advantage a cloudy-grey day to visit the Parc du Trou de la Fée, explore the waterfalls and cross the canyon via suspension bridges. The weather and the short distance of the hike perfectly match my mood – I am pretty tired after our whale watching adventure. Nevertheless, I enjoy the powerful sound of the water, the calm, silent walks alongside my love, and the astonishing photographs I bring home from the canyon.
The next day, the sun is back – and so is my energy. We decide to hike the Sentier Eucher near La Baie, a breathtaking trail that takes us 150 meters up the cliff and rewards us with a phenomenal view over the fjords.
I love the vastness of the view in which size becomes a very relative matter. I try to catch what is left of a fabulous autumn colors on the tries and on the ground, and I‘m enthusiastic about nature’s curious little wonders – rectangular trees, some seemingly rooted in stone, light shining through the tiniest maple leaves, and the stormy wind on top of the cliff that almost blows my phone out of both hands.
