I just found one of the first pictures I took with my Sony Alpha in 2006, living in Giessen for about five days in my little, kind of sterile living — or rather: studying quarters.

A couple of years and 10 000 shots later (yes, it started counting from the beginning again!) I decided to share data with another online service — I started publishing photos on flickr. So here’s the link to my photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/schratiart/

It is the outcome of an afternoon of great work with Keith and the new light/background equipment which I use for any upcoming portrait projects. Anyone interested is welcome! No obligations to take off shirts, by the way…

I keep remembering my roomie in Taize telling me that I had a very deep sense of beauty. Sometimes that doesn’t relaly help but in this case it does! I hope for a lot of more beauty to discover and capture — it’s all there, you just need to be attentive – and maybe courageous in the right moment.
